THE GAMBERO ROSSO “TRE BICCHIERI” AWARD GOES TO CHIANTI CLASSICO ETICHETTA BLU 2014

For the fifth year running, a Chianti Classico Lamole di Lamole has obtained the most prestigious award for an Italian wine: “Tre Bicchieri” by the Gambero Rosso Vini d'Italia guide.

In fact, the 2018 edition of the guide gave our Chianti Classico Etichetta Blu DOCG the highest possible ranking: the jury only awards “Tre Bicchieri” to wines they themselves classify as “extraordinary”.

Chianti Classico DOCG 2013 received the “Tre Bicchieri” award in the 2017 edition; Chianti Classico Etichetta Blu DOCG 2012 was awarded it for the 2016 edition.

In the preceding editions, in 2015 and 2014, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto di Campolungo obtained the highest ranking.

This is the second time Etichetta Blu enters the Gambero Rosso guide of Italian excellence and we are very proud of this result.

This Chianti Classico is our most “international” wine because it adds small quantities of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to traditional Sangiovese ones.

The result is an exciting, modern interpretation of Chianti Classico: sour black cherry and mixed berry aromas prevail together with a floral bouquet in this wine with a well-rounded and glyceric mouth-feel and a full, plump mid palate. The finish is still dominated by the sweet aromas of fruit and spices.
