Even the Romans - and later the writers of the 19th century – indicated Lamole as the source of some of the finest Chianti wines.
And to confirm this tradition of quality – based on human labor, constant attention to the environment and, of course, also excellent soil and climatic conditions – the event known as “I profumi di Lamole” takes place every year, with the aim of introducing wine lovers and trade professionals alike to the special features of this unique site, which overlooks the whole of Chianti Classico.
Its wine is a high-altitude Chianti of particular finesse and elegance, thanks to the characteristics of a soil that is rich in manganese and iron. All of the producers in Lamole, including obviously ourselves at “Lamole di Lamole”, participated in the event which, for the tenth year in a row, “crowned” the ideal testimonial for the hamlet’s wines: an accolade that went this year to Tuscan sommelier Pietro Palma.
On display there were tasting tables featuring all of our wines, as well as the gastronomic specialties of the zone.
Wine tastings tutored by the above-mentioned Pietro Palma and by Davide Bonucci made the program even richer.
For the friends of “Lamole di Lamole”, there was a shuttle service between our winery and the Santa Margherita-Tenimenti Toscani Bistro at Greti in Chianti, thus conserving as far as possible the environment of Lamole. As always, the guided tours of our historic cellars were crowded.
At the end of the event, there was the ceremony of the “ninth” wine of Lamole, produced from the fusion in a single wine of the production of the eight wineries in the area: a symbol of unity in the name of the most authentic of Chiantis.
