“Three Glasses” from Gambero Rosso for the 2012 Blue Label Chianti Classico from Lamole Di Lamole

It’s the most prestigious accolade for Italian wines, to the extent that it is now a real institution. And this year the “Tre Bicchieri® (“Three Glass”) rating in Gambero Rosso’s 2016 “Italian Wines” Guide has been awarded to the 2012 Blue Label Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. from Lamole di Lamole.

This is a wine that we define as being the “most international” among our Chianti Classicos because – along with the traditional Sangiovese – it combines small proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes: a distinctive characteristic that makes this fine red more complex and incredibly concentrated on both the nose and palate.

It is a wine that is the expression of a unique terroir, where our organically-farmed vineyards lie on terraces at an altitude of over 500 meters above sea level. Here, thanks to the substantial differences between day- and night-time temperatures, the exposition, ventilation and the good drainage of the soil, the grapes ripen perfectly. Also, these special conditions confer a particular elegance and richness to the wine’s aromatic and taste profiles.

A Chianti Classico that is ideal for accompanying char-grilled meats and is exceptional with mature cheeses.
